PiYo LIVE (with Anne)

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility of flowing yoga movements. You'll use your body weight to perform a series of continuous, targeted moves to define every single muscle—big and small.

Abs & Arms / Legs & Glutes (with Carol)

Abs & Arms (MONDAYS) or Legs & Glutes (WEDNESDAYS)

This is a strength training (barbell, dumbbells and bodyweight) class that is focused on increasing strength and tone for the entire body. This is for any level of fitness and experience - the instructor will meet you where you are and help you build up to reach your goals.

Barre (with Amy)

Barre is inspired by ballet and Pilates movements and incorporates added strength and resistance training. The goal is to focus on building body awareness & strength through small, toning and isometric movements. Classes will focus on working large muscle groups through ballet moves like arabesques, pliès and releves, toning smaller muscle groups through resistance training and always on building core strength (posture is key in every move!). Barre will give you a full body workout with both cardio and strength movements thrown in for a fast paced and fun class! Equipment used includes a mat, a barre or chair for support, light weights, exercise balls and tubing- and who knows what else I’ll toss in there for fun! Barre class is typically done barefoot, but if you want to wear grippy socks or light/flexible shoes, that’s perfectly fine! This is YOUR workout, so your comfort and confidence are the cornerstones for success!

Strength Sessions (with Amy)

Strength Sessions will focus on a full body workout, and will include things like circuit training, resistance training and cardio. These classes will get you sweaty, and challenge you to test yourself and reach new goals each week!

MetKon Rx (with Anne)

MetKon RX stands for science driven Metabolic Conditioning programmed by Pittsburgh native, Kam Niskach. This is a full body, high intensity interval training class. It uses pre-programmed intervals to improve strength, power, athletic performance, and core stability. It also incorporates functional movements to help strengthen the movements needed in our everyday lives. This is a fast moving, fun, and results driven workout. The instructor will provide modifications to lessen the intensity of the movements wherever possible - making this class accommodating across many levels of fitness and physical ability.

Yin Yoga (with Carol)

What is Yin and why should we practice this style of yoga?  In ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang describe how seemingly opposite forces are actually connected and can help bring balance.  This belief also applies to the practice of yoga.  This passive style of yoga focuses on stretching deeper connective tissues: ligaments, tendons, and deep fascia, as well as putting (good!) stress on the joints by holding postures for 3-5 minutes.  The class will use a variety of supports to help the student relax into the posture as much as possible, using little to no muscle strength.

Yoga with Inversions (with Carol)

Don't be scared by the term "Inversions"! This class will combine vinyasa flow with inversions (headstands) utilizing the FeetUp (r) Trainer inversion bench! This is a very beginner friendly class, with lots of instruction and support. If you want to add variety and playfulness to your practice (or just want to start a practice), this class is for you. No one is required to go upside down, but once you try it , you will be amazed at what you really can do!

PLEASE NOTE* While inversions are indeed quite fun to practice, they are not for everyone. Contraindications pertaining to practicing inversions: Anyone who has higher blood pressure, heart related problems, eye issues, neck problems, epilepsy, previous stroke or sinus problems should usually not do inversions. If you are not quite sure, please check with your healthcare provider to see if inversions are safe for you.
